The Build and Bond: a team exercise

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to present Build and Bond, an experiential exercise which engages student teams while they apply team dynamics, enhance skills foster member interpersonal bonds. Design/methodology/approach During design execute their own team-building activity. Specifically, set goals, generate ideas, make decisions, create a activity, develop implementation plans ultimately the Finally, during all-class debrief discussion, describe activities, connect experiences learning objectives reflect on how these lessons can be applied in future experiences. Pretest posttest surveys were used determine if participants perceived increases performance cohesion following Bond. Findings All reported that activity added value, was preferred over instructor-assigned improved states. from t -tests supported improvement cohesion. Social implications Bond designed help students feel more equipped communicate, have fun work interdependently with current members.
